To me mother is defined by unconditional love. A mother can be a single father raising his children or a friend or relation who teaches, inspires, loves and remains a constant presence in the lives of another child as they navigate through the difficult and often confusing pathways of life. I've been blessed by having the greatest band of mother's in my life. Time affords us the miracle to experience new love in our lives, whether biological or not, being a mother figure takes a lot of hard work and determination. Just because a title is given to you does not reward you as a mother. A mother is someone who loves, works and gives of herself selflessly. All who are blessed to have mother's in their lives, be it biological, by marriages or by being extra blessed to have a presence in your life that is inspiring, loving and caring. Be thankful and understanding. No one is perfect, life is far from perfect. Love because love is gratitude. Each and everyday, love and be gracious. To the Aunt, the in laws, the family friend or whomever joined in raising you. Happy mother's day to all the mother's out there who have earned the right to be loved.
