You cannot pinpoint and understand completely the effects that depression can have on a person. Blaming social media or other tangibles is the simplistic point of view. It goes much further and much deeper than this. Does the fear of missing out or FOMO play a part in sadness and frustration? Of course it does, but so does walking the empty streets when everyone has gone on vacation. Driving a car that cannot drive itself or being in a loveless marriage. Depression is another monster and much more debilitating than sadness and FOMO. Don't downgrade it's cancerous destruction by blaming external forces only. It is much more complicated. Living under a dark cloud, not leaving the house when you know you should, because you just cannot find the energy or the inspiration to do so, even when the reasons are staring you in the face... Hearing laughter, seeing smiles and ingesting the aromas that once upon a time brought a sense of enjoyment and now it's as if it's just another stench... Wanting to be at peace but your mind is at war. Wanting to be happy, but you just don't have that vibe anymore. Think of it as the plague of darkness in Egypt. Darkness so thick that you cannot move, see or breathe. Now multiply that... I have been there, it will get better, I swear it will, but you need to let go of trying to control everything... Get help, it will help. It's more than one person can handle... Please don't give up. #depression #suicideprevention #itwillgetbetter National Suicide Prevention Lifeline Call 1-800-273-8255 Available 24 hours everydayInstagram
